Miss Universe Haiti 2011

This is a girl I took under my wing. I wanted her to be the presenter of a
show for me. But when I decided to do Miss Haiti Universe I thought she
had to be in it. I called her and said she Needed to come to do the Miss
Haiti Universe Pageant in Haiti. I am doing it with the woman that bought
the franchise. Haitians were no longer interested in pageants. But she was
happy to come. Needless to say she won the pageant.

I Went to Haiti to do the pageant because I hated seeing a Dominican
woman taking The Miss Haiti Universe from Haitians. I felt that we had a
lot to offer, our culture, our heritage. From New York I called the lady to
see if she wanted to collaborate. “Yes of course” she said. Well she
thought I would do the work and she would make the profits. She got the
franchise saying it was the same island. You see, Haiti did not do the
pageant for a number of years. I shopped around and no one wanted to
put up the money for it. It was going to be done no matter what? Even if I
had to do it myself. I did Miss Haiti International in Miami and it went well.

The pageant was done because my friend who held a show at Hotel
Montana said it was ok for me to make it a Miss Haiti Universe Night. I did
nothing and got nothing. The fees the girls paid to participate in the
pageant went into getting the thing done. This same friend took the winner
Anedie to various venues without me. I let them do their thing because I
just came back to Haiti and I had no car to get around yet.

Before you know it, the girl went to Dominican Republic to stay at the
lady’s house training her to win ‘The Miss Universe.’ Although she worked
hard at it. She did not win, she was not part of the few chosen as finalists.
But in Haiti, she now had a name. People knew who she was thanks to the
Miss Haiti Universe pageant.

The woman continued to pick girls to do Miss Haiti Universe. The next was
2012 Christela Jacques, 2013 Mondiana Pierre in 2014 We got Christie
Desir and I am not sure what happened. Someone else decided to do the
pageant. In 2015 we got Lisa Drouillard and in 2016 Raquel Pelissier was
the 2nd runner up. Miss Haiti Universe is back in Haitian Hands.

Other than going to Brazil and a few sponsors I don’t know what else
Anedie got from the pageant. She bought Miss World it did not work out
so she sold it. She did Television, shows and then married. But she was
crowned Anedie Azael, Miss Haiti Universe 2011
