The Editor’s Letter

Our truth is undeniable our culture is unique and we freely wish to have you share them with us. What a year it has been, today immigrants are still coming through the border. This is a difficult reality, a better life is what they want. A job to put food on the table, a home, clean water, a simple life to actively demonstrates that they are looking for something better. Let’s show them we can progress anywhere.

This year will be the change we make it. Writing for Rebelle again is a privilege that makes me happy. The stories we try to tell, the fashion, the businesses, the hotel and resorts to discover. The way we enjoyed promoting young Haitian women through the magazine. There is no such thing being done nowadays. It may be free and easy to live in America, but there are rules one must live by to make it here. Rebelle is coming with you to help with the adjustment to do things the American way. We will do our best to give you a magazine that equals what you are used to in the United States.

Today we have settled in a foreign country while keeping an eye on the mother land. Rebelle Today LLC is determined to make your life easier. Thou we will not hide, our love for liberty keeps us fighting until something changes. We are the first free black republic. The nation that refused to allow Napoleon’s army to keep us enslaved. We still have a niche, the toughest people who ever lived. It is not easy leaving what you know for a foreign land. Your family, friends, your comforts are no more. We are Haitians, a great nation, a fearless people. No one can take that away. But Haiti has become a place we used to live.

We hope Rebelle today becomes the favorite magazine it was in Haiti. It will remind you of home and take you to a place where you were happy and content. Where we have time to pick up a magazine and look at beautiful girls. We’ll enjoy the sunset, but not like in Haiti. A culturally decorated tap tap is not Haiti or a plate of (Cabrit grille) fried goat does not taste like our cuisine. Haiti is in our Heart. We’re featuring five Miss Haiti’s that became strong women today. They are women who cherish being Haitian
and show it through their work.

The Diaspora is keeping those we left back home alive. The United States is still the bridge that allows those less fortunate to live better, as we’re still sending thousands of dollars back home. We ask you not to forget but to reinforce the love you have for the country that it was. So we appreciate you for believing in us. We hope this year brings you health, wealth and a long life. Thank you for being a part of the “Rebelle Today” Family and may you have a Happy New year 2024!
